Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a male found at 8600 Woodway Drive about 12:20 p.m. on April 23, 2022.
The suspects Darrick Eddie Collins, 20, and Kaleb Rashawn Sharp, 20, are charged with murder in the 338th and 182nd State District Courts, respectively. Bookings photos of Collins and Sharp are attached to this news release.
They are accused in the death of Takada Davis, 37.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective L. Lovelace reported:
The manager of an apartment complex at the above address was advised by a resident that the front door of an apartment unit had been open all night. The manager and a security guard entered the apartment and found Mr. Davis unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Davis, deceased.
Further investigation identified Collins and Sharp as suspects in this case. Collins was arrested on August 10, 2022 and Sharp was arrested on October 12, 2022. Both were subsequently charged.
