| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 13000 Hiram Clarke Road about 11:45 p.m. on Thursday (April 6).
The suspect, Lydell Elliott Grant, 46, is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Edwin Arevalo, 33.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective J. Stroble reported:
Mr. Arevalo was driving a Toyota Yaris northbound near the above address when he struck a white Lexus sedan in a minor crash. The male driver of the Lexus exited his vehicle, shot Arevalo and then fled the scene in the Lexus.
Further investigation identified Grant as the suspect driver in this case. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Grant was subsequently charged.
HPD homicide detectives then obtained a warrant for Grant’s arrest. He was taken into custody on Friday (April 7) by members of the HPD SWAT and Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Teams without incident.
