Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 3509 Almeda Genoa Road that occurred about 10 p.m. on Monday (August 30).
The victim, Jason Lewis, 23, was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective D. King reported:
Mr. Lewis, stated he and a woman, (suspect) who he was dating and with whom he had an eight-month-old daughter, were driving when they began arguing. The suspect got out of the vehicle and walked to a nearby gas station at the above address. A short time later, Lewis went to the gas station to pick up the suspect and when he arrived there, the couple continued arguing.
The suspect got her purse and phone from the vehicle and the two continued to argue. She then retrieved her pistol from her purse and pointed it at Lewis, who was holding their daughter. The suspect demanded their daughter and attempted to pull the child through the driver’s side vehicle window until Lewis released her.
The suspect continued to argue with Lewis and as Lewis attempted to leave the location, the suspect, while holding the child, fired multiple shots at Lewis. Lewis then fled the location for his safety and was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
The suspect also fled the scene.
Currently, there are no charges in this incident. The investigation is continuing.
