Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6500 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 4:10 p.m. on Saturday (March 23).
The deceased male is identified as Cesar Arzate Roman, 44.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Jones and Officer C. Song reported:
Mr. Arzate Roman was driving a gray Volkswagen Rabbit southbound on the freeway at the above address when he changed lanes and clipped a gray Toyota Corolla. The Volkswagen then struck the rear of a school bus, went partially underneath the bus and then struck a concrete exit lane barrier.
Paramedics were called and pronounced Arzate Roman deceased at the scene.
Two male passengers, 44 and 19, in the Volkswagen were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured, including 22 passengers on the school bus. The drivers of the bus and the Toyota did not show signs of intoxication and were released.
The investigation is continuing.
