Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 200 Cavalcade Street about 7 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 1).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Central Patrol Division officers reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was crossing the street at the above address – not at a crosswalk – when he was struck by a black Ford Expedition traveling westbound on Cavalcade. Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The male driver, 36, did not show visible signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
