Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 301 Wilcrest Drive about 7:10 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 1).
The victim, Demarcus Johnson, 28, suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Barker and M. Combs reported:
Mr. Johnson was driving his vehicle and leaving an apartment complex parking lot at the above address when he was shot by an unknown suspect(s). A female passenger, 21, was not harmed. Johnson then drove to a business and called 911 for assistance.
There is no known suspect description other than a red van was reported to be chasing Johnson before he was shot.
