Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1700 State Highway 6 South about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday (March 9).
The identity of the deceased male, 22, is pending notification to family members in the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer F. Flynn reported:
The male, a pedestrian, was crossing the street at the above address – not in a crosswalk – when he was struck by a silver Toyota Highlander traveling northbound. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver, 22, of the Toyota remained at the scene, did not show any signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
