WHAT: House fire.
WHEN:August 9, 2023, at 3:06 a.m.
WHERE: 8400 block of Shady Dr. 77016.
INJURIES: One firefighter transported to the hospital.

DAMAGE: $200,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 1-story home and garage. They made an offensive attack, and the roof was ventilated. A fan was used to remove the smoke from the home, and once the fire was extinguished, a primary search was completed. CenterPoint was notified and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. One firefighter injured their knee and was transported to the hospital. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 34, 45, 39, 43, 56, 30 and Rehab 17.
