WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: August 10, 2023, at 8:32 p.m.
WHERE: 1500 block of Victory St. 77019.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $25,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to carelessly discarded smoking materials from an unknown person.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find fire coming from a 1-story house, involving a large tree, fence, and patio structure. They made an attack on the fire and requested the Houston Police Department for traffic and crowd control. A primary search was completed with no one found and the house appeared to be vacant. The crews quickly controlled and extinguished the fire with no extension in the house. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 33 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 6, 8, 9, 16, 7, 30 and Rehab 8.
