CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to an unspecified electrical malfunction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within a minute to find smoke coming from the front and garage area of a house. A primary search was completed, and they extinguished a fire in the kitchen. The roof was ventilated, and crews checked for extension. The utilities were secured, and the homeowner arrived on scene. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 11, 16, 6, 28, 13, 30, 15, Heavy Rescue 11 and the Village Fire Department responded to this incident.
