WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 15, 2024, at 6:28 a.m.
WHERE: 6100 block of Crab Orchard Rd. 77057.
INJURIES: One firefighter transported to the hospital with a minor injury.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $3,000,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find smoke coming from a house that was under construction. They made an offensive attack during which a firefighter injured their ankle and was transported to the hospital. Conditions worsened and crews evacuated to make a defensive attack. The fire was controlled and extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 51 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 2, 38, 5, 28, 3, 60, 69, 62, 57 and Rescue 10.
