House Fire in The Greater OST / South Union Area

WHAT: House fire.

WHEN: February 29, 2024, at 1:42 a.m.

WHERE: 6700 London St. 77021.

INJURIES: Two citizens transported to the hospital and a third citizen treated on scene.

PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.

DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Under investigation (appears to be accidental).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a house on fire. A primary search was completed as they made an attack on the fire and additional HFD units were requested to allow for firefighters to rotate through rehab. A second search was conducted as firefighters pulled the ceiling to fully extinguish the fire. The utilities were controlled and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Two residents who had exited the home prior to HFDs arrival were transported to the hospital and a third resident was treated on scene by HFD EMS for burns. 48 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 35, 46, 23, 26, 25, 33, 40, 55, 24 and Rehab 17.
