WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 1, 2024, at 12:38 p.m.
WHERE: 6800 block of Peerless St. 77021.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $30,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 1-story vacant house. A wall and part of the roof had collapsed. Crews made a defensive attack and protected the nearby exposures. Once the fire was controlled, a primary search was completed with no one found and the fire was fully extinguished. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 43 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 46, 23, 21, 7, 33, 35, 67 and 24.
