WHAT: House fire with deceased civilian.
WHEN: February 1, 2024, at 9:20 p.m.
WHERE: 6700 block of Midfield Dr. 77092.
INJURIES: One civilian found deceased, and two dogs found deceased.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $195,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find heavy smoke and fire coming from a 1-story house with a report of a person trapped. They made an attack on the fire, however had to back out of the house due to heavy fire and a roof collapse. Crews reset the fire and conducted a primary search. Fans were used to ventilate the home and the utilities were turned off. A deceased 58-year-old woman was found with two deceased dogs. Firefighters completed extinguishment efforts and HFD Arson investigators were notified to determine the cause and origin. 40 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 4, 50, 2, 5, 13, 77, 62, 57 and Heavy Rescue 11.
