WHAT: House fire with deceased civilian found.
WHEN: April 19, 2022 at 12:42 a.m.
WHERE: 1100 block of W. 19th, 77008
INJURIES: One civilian found deceased.
PROPERTY SAVED: $199,530 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $25,200 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find heavy fire coming from a 1-story house. They forced entry through a gate and burglar bars. Once the fire was reset, crews found a deceased individual in the home. They ventilated the roof and conducted a secondary search with no one else was found. The fire was controlled and HFD Arson investigators and HPD were requested to investigate the fire. Firefighters from Stations 15, 6, 11, 13, 31, 62 and 30 responded to this incident.
