WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: January 31, 2024, at 2:44 a.m.
WHERE: 1700 block of Hailey St. 77020.
INJURIES: One civilian treated on scene.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $61,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within a minute to find a house totally involved in fire and a nearby residence attic on fire. They entered the exposure and made an attack on the fire. One citizen was rescued and treated on scene by HFD EMS. Crews extinguished the fire, and a primary search was completed of the main structure. No victims were found. The utility company was notified and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 19, 17, 15, 8, 9, 27, 7, 30 and Rescue 42.
