WHERE: 9400 block of E. Avenue I, 77012.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $100,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find light smoke coming from a house and made an offensive attack. They conducted a primary search with no one found. The crews extinguished the fire and checked for extension. A phone charger had an electrical short and caught a nearby mattress on fire, spreading to the next room. 31 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 20, 23 and 29.
