WHAT: House Fire.
WHEN: March 1, 2023 at 1:26 a.m.
WHERE: 2500 block of Sadler St. 77093.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $82,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from the side of a 1-story house. They made an attack on the fire and ventilated the home. The utilities were secured, and the residents were safely outside. One resident was evaluated by EMS on scene. Crews controlled and extinguished the fire that extended into the attic and other rooms of the home. It appeared there was an electrical or mechanical issue with a window air-conditioning unit which caused the fire. Firefighters from Stations 34, 15, 31, 12, 30 and 39 responded to this incident.
