WHERE: 7700 block of Magnolia St. 77023.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $205,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $40,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Act of nature (lightning).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find a fire coming from a detached garage of a house. They forced entry and made an attack on the fire. The power company was contacted for a down powerline. Once the power was cut, the crews extinguished the fire. A lightning strike had caused the fire. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 20, 40 and 18.
