WHAT: Commercial building fire.
WHEN: April 15, 2023 at 7:21 a.m.
WHERE: 8111 Long Point Rd. 77055.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $864,500 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $30,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from the roof of a small 1-story commercial building. They gained entry and found heavier smoke inside. The building was ventilated, and a primary search was completed. The crews located and extinguished the fire which was also in the air-condition and heating system going to the roof. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. CenterPoint arrived on scene and disconnected the main feed into the building. Firefighters from Stations 38, 2, 5, 50, 57 and the Village Fire Department responded to this incident.
