WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: January 12, 2023 at 7:59 p.m.
WHERE: 2801 Broadmead Dr. 77025.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental, caused by an unspecified electrical fault in or around the breaker box.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke coming from the second floor of a 2-story apartment. They made an offensive attack and ventilated the building. A primary search was completed, and the residents were evacuated from the building. The power was turned off to the building and the fire was contained to the unit of origin. Crews extinguished the fie and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. The occupant of the unit was evaluated on scene by HFD EMS. Firefighters from Stations 33, 2, 21, 46, 24, 37 and 59 responded to this incident.
