WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: March 6, 2023 at 4:52 a.m.
WHERE: 9600 Braes Bayou Dr. 77074.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $850,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $150,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a 2-story apartment building on fire and made an offensive attack. They quickly stopped the spread of the fire and conducted a primary search. Several cats were found and provided oxygen, however only one survived. The fire was extinguished and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. Crews from Stations 2, 28, 68, 10, 48, 51, 83 and 24 responded to this incident.
