Houston police have arrested two suspects charged in the death of a female at 301 Grace Street found about 2:05 p.m. on May 17, 2025.
Louis Vargas Sosa, 51, and Danielle Henderson Cano, 38, are both charged with murder in the 487th and 488th Criminal District Courts, respectively. Booking photos of Sosa and Cano are attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Margaret Cruz, 68.
HPD Homicide Division Detective D. Toledo reported:
Officers responded to the death of a female at the above address. The female, identified as Ms. Cruz, did not have signs of trauma, however autopsy results revealed the female’s cause of death was asphyxiation and blunt force injuries.
Further investigation identified Sosa and Cano as suspects in this case. At the time of Cruz’s death Sosa and Cano were roommates at Cruz’s residence. On September 3, 2026 Cano was arrested and charged. On September 28, 2026, Vargas was arrested and charged. Both were booked into the Harris County Jail.
