Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 11400 Bissonnet about 1:45 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 27).
The identity of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer R. Guzman reported:
A Houston Fire Department ambulance was diving on Bissonnet when they viewed a body lying in the roadway at the above address. When they stopped, they found the victim to have head trauma, consistent with being struck by a vehicle. They pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
HPD investigators arrived at the scene and while conducting the investigation the driver of a black Chevrolet Suburban arrived at the scene and the driver stated she might have hit a pedestrian. The driver only knew that initially she had struck something in the roadway.
The driver did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
