Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash in the 3900 block of Gessner Road about 2:20 a.m. om April 25.
The suspect, Leonardo Josue Martinez Marquez, 23, is charged with intoxicated manslaughter in the 351st Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Martinez Marquez is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified Karla Perez, 24.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Barrow and Officer F. Flynn reported:
A white Ford Fusion was traveling southbound while a blue Honda Accord was traveling northbound at the above address. The Honda was attempting to left turn when both vehicles collided. The female driver, 23, and female passenger, 24, in the Honda were transported to an area hospital. Doctors pronounced the passenger deceased.
Investigators determined the driver of the Ford was impaired and speeding at the time of the crash. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and he was arrested and charged.
