Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 10107 Westview Drive about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (April 26).
The identity of the deceased male, 47, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and Officer N. Luu reported:
The driver of white Kia Optima was exiting a parking lot turning east at above address when the vehicle struck a bicyclist. The bicyclist was on the sidewalk attempting to cross the driveway when the crash occurred. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the bicyclist to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The male driver, 25, of the Kia remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
The investigation is ongoing.
