The fatal shooting of a male at 4931 Saxon Drive about 11:40 p.m. last Saturday (Jan. 21) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the male, 19, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Jorsch and C. Bowling reported: Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and found the male unresponsive outside the home. He had sustained a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the male deceased. The male shooter remained at the scene and was questioned by investigators. It was learned the homeowner was not at the residence and left the care of the home to neighbors. Witnesses stated someone, matching the description of the male, was seen and heard attempting to break into the home. The witnesses stated the male rushed one of the neighbors and a physical altercation ensued when the neighbor shot the male. After consulting with members of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the incident would be referred to a grand jury.
