WHAT: Wildland Fire
WHEN: January 6, 2022 at 3:29 p.m.
WHERE: Near 5600 block of Buckow Dr. 77396
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: No structural loss.
DAMAGE: Damage to approximately 50 acres.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire in a wooded area behind a residential street, moving rapidly towards the homes. Multiple boosters, dozers and a drone were requested. Crews protected the homes while firefighters used a drone to size up the situation. Crews contained and extinguished the fire with the assistance of the Texas Forest Service dozer. The fire damage was contained to about 50 acres with no structural loss. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Crews from Stations 65, 101, 103, 64, 8, 32, 34, 39, 56, 58, 63, 74, 15 and Rehab 17 responded to this incident.
