A suspect charged and wanted in the fatal stabbing of a man at 13301 Cullen Boulevard about 2:45 a.m. on April 7 has been arrested.
The suspect, Sean R. Smith, 52, is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. Smith’s booking photo is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the death of Dexter Burnett, 68.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and M. Cass reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing call and learned the victim (later identified as Mr. Burnett) was stabbed multiple times in the parking lot of a gas station at the above address. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
Witnesses and evidence from the scene identified Smith as the suspect, who had fled the scene. He was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
On Saturday (April 13), HPD officers arrested Smith and transported him to the Harris County Jail without incident.
