Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 12500 Dunlap Street 

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a woman at 12500 Dunlap Street about 9:40 a.m. on Sunday (April 14).

The suspect, Edward Lee Washington, 29, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 248th State District Court.  A photo of Washington, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The victim, 47, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective B. Phan reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and learned the victim had been shot and transported by paramedics to the hospital.

A preliminary investigation determined the victim and Washington, who are common-law married, got into a domestic dispute outside the apartment.  A family member heard a gunshot and learned the victim had been shot by Washington, who then fled the scene.
