UPDATE: Wanted Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 12600 East Freeway

A suspect wanted in the stabbing of a male at 12600 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 11:40 a.m. last Wednesday (July 26) is now arrested and charged.

The suspect, Edward Navarro, 35, is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 338th State District Court. A booking photo of Navarro is attached to this news release.

The male victim, 51, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective T. Youll reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a stabbing at the above address and found a male had been stabbed several times while trying to prevent a theft that had occurred at a restaurant at 1094 Federal Road.  Officers provided medical assistance until Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to the hospital.  The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

On Saturday, members of the Houston Metro Police Department detained the suspect and contacted HPD investigators. Navarro was arrested and he admitted to his role in the incident. He was subsequently charged.
