Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4359 Alvin Street about 8 p.m. on November 22, 2020.
The suspects, Don Mitchell (b/m, 21) and Dionicio Mitchell (b/m, 18), are charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. Their booking photos are attached to this news release.
The victim, Michael Evans, 38, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Pak and C. Flora reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a meet-the-firefighter call at a residence at the above address. HPD and Houston Fire Department personnel entered the residence and found Mr. Evans lying on a bedroom floor and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. HFD paramedics pronounced him deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated two other persons lived at the residence and were present when the shooting occurred. They were no longer at the scene when officers and paramedics arrived.
Further investigation led to the identities of Don Mitchell and his brother, Dionicio Mitchell, as the suspects in this case. They were arrested on Tuesday (March 9) without incident.
