UPDATE: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8306 Roswell Street

Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8306 Roswell Street that occurred about 6:40 p.m. on August 20.

One suspect, Joel Vincent-Jerome Moore (w/m, 19), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Moore is not available for release at this time, pending further investigation.

A second suspect, a juvenile male, 16, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a murder charge.

Both are accused in the death of Guadalupe Rico, 24, who was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Pak and A. Henderson reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and observed blood and discharged firearm evidence in the street, but could not locate a victim.  The officers learned that witnesses drove the victim, Mr. Rico, to an area fire station. Houston Fire Department paramedics then transported him to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators learned Rico was shot multiple times after he approached two male suspects who then fled the scene on foot.

On Thursday (August 26), HPD patrol officers stopped suspects Moore and the juvenile for a traffic violation.  A witness was able to positively identify them as the suspects involved in the shooting of Rico.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Moore and the juvenile were subsequently charged for their roles in the shooting.
