Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 5085 Westheimer Road about 6:50 p.m. last Saturday (April 16).
The suspect, Deon Darrelle Henderson, 25, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon in the 178th State District Court. A booking photo of Henderson is attached to this news release.The victim, 28, was transported to an area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Barker and L. Castellanos reported:HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the shopping mall at the above address and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspect, described only as an unknown black male, fled the scene before officers arrived. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical, but stable condition.Further investigation led to the identity of the suspect as Deon Henderson and he was arrested late Tuesday (April 19). He was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
