UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 12968 Westheimer Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 12698 Westheimer Road about 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 27.

The suspect, Elias Sanders, 18, is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Terence Davis, 23.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and M. Condon reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a convenience store at the above address. Upon arrival, officers learned Mr. Davis was purchasing items from the store when he was approached by two male suspects and was physically threatened. During the physical confrontation, the suspects shot Davis multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At that time, the suspects were described only as two black males with slim builds. One suspect was wearing a black jacket and the other, a blue jacket. Both suspects also wore face masks.

Further investigation identified Sanders as a suspect in this case and, on April 14, Sanders was arrested by the HPD Westside Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team for evading arrest. Sanders admitted to investigators his role in Davis’ death. A second unidentified suspect remains at large.
