UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in November 2022 Shooting at 8700 South Braeswood Boulevard

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 8700 South Braeswood Boulevard about 9:40 p.m. on November 3, 2022.

The suspect, Jeremy Scott Hartman, 19, is charged aggravated assault-serious bodily injury in the 178th State District Court.  A booking photo of Hartman is attached to this news release.

The victim,19, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives B. Godoy and A. Merino reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call to a parking lot at the above address and found the victim inside a taco truck.  He had suffered a gunshot wound and was transported the hospital by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Investigators learned a dark gray, four-door Cadillac arrived at the location and someone inside the vehicle fired shots into the taco truck. The Cadillac then fled the scene. Surveillance photos of the vehicle were released to the public on November 8, 2022.

Several weeks after the shooting, thanks to tips from community members,  HPD Major Assaults detectives identified Hartman as a possible suspect.  After further investigation, Hartman was identified as the sole suspect in this incident.

On February 8 Hartman was arrested on an unrelated charge and interviewed by Major Assaults detectives.  The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Hartman was subsequently charged.in this case.
