| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 9600 Bissonnet Street about 8 a.m. on September 23.
The suspect, Mathew Jones, 32, is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. A Denver Police Department booking photo of Jones is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Alexandria Salyer, 25.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective L. Lange reported:
Officers were dispatched to Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital after a female with gunshot wounds was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. Doctors pronounced the woman, later identified as Ms. Salyer, deceased at the hospital.
Detectives learned the shooting occurred at the above address following a disturbance with unknown persons.
Further investigation identified Jones as the suspect in this case. On October 6, he was arrested by the Denver Police Department police officers and is awaiting extradition back to Houston.
