Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 8415 Bucroft Street about 10:05 a.m. on March 5.
The suspect, Keivon Sharmon Howard, 27, is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Christopher Chaisson Bedford, 42.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook reported:
The victim was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address when he was confronted by an unknown suspect armed with an assault rifle. The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim and then fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Bedford, deceased at the scene.
Further investigation identified Howard as the suspect in this case. On Thursday (March 23), Howard was arrested by the HPD Northeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team without incident. A warrant for revocation of Howard’s parole has been issued by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, who also assisted in the investigation.
