Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8200 Sunbury Street about 2:40 a.m. on April 24.
The suspect, 16, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder.
The victim, Dammon Johnson, 36, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was pronounced deceased at a hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Officer A. Dudley reported:
Witnesses stated Mr. Johnson was at the above address when he was shot by a juvenile male suspect who fled the scene in a red, four-door sedan. Paramedics transported Johnson to an area hospital.
Further investigation led to the identity and whereabouts of the suspect and he was taken into custody on Wednesday (June 9) in Humble by deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
