| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a juvenile male at 14814 Hiram Clarke Road about 3:35 a.m. on November 11, 2023.
The suspect, Dennis Armenta, Jr., 19, is charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 487th State District Court. A booking photo of Armenta is attached to this news release.
The deceased victim is identified as Jonathan Adame Reyes, 17.
The second victim, 16, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he was later treated and released.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Dudley and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and found Mr. Adame Reyes unresponsive in the garage. They also observed a second victim in the roadway. Both had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced Adame Reyes deceased and transported the other victim to a hospital.
Further investigation identified Armenta as the suspect in this case. Armenta was arrested on Tuesday (March 19) without incident by officers with the HPD Gang Division Crime Reduction Unit.
Armenta admitted to his involvement in the shooting and was subsequently charged.
