| Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two persons of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man found at 3800 West 12th Street about 7:20 a.m. on April 26.
The persons of interest, who are not charged at this time, are described only as two Hispanic males. Surveillance photos of the males are attached to this news release.
The victim, Mauro Martinez Barron, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives G. Sullivan and M. Condon reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to the above address after a passer-by discovered a male unresponsive and lying in a ditch. He was bound and had been shot multiple times. Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the victim as Martinez Barron. A preliminary investigation indicated family members’ last contact with Martinez Barron was on April 23. He was then reported missing on April 24. Further investigation developed information on two persons of interest, who remain unidentified at this time.
