Houston police have released two photos of a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man at 801 Telephone Road that occurred about 3:50 p.m. on March 18.
The person of interest is described only as a young Hispanic male driving a blue, 1999-2001 Pontiac Trans Am with white racing stripes. Photos of the person of interest and the vehicle are attached to this news release.
The victim, Jose Trevino, 29, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detectives R. Naughton and L. Palma reported:
Mr. Trevino and a witness were involved in a minor crash with a blue Pontiac Trans Am driven by the above person of interest. Both Trevino and the person of interest pulled into a restaurant parking lot at the above address and were waiting for the male to have money brought to the location to pay for damages to Trevino’s white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Approximately 10 minutes later, several additional suspects in a light blue Chevrolet Silverado arrived in the parking lot. The suspects then robbed Trevino of his vehicle and all persons fled the scene.
Trevino and the witness then went to a parking lot next to the above address and attempted to confront one of the suspects as he fled in Trevino’s Chevrolet Silverado. The suspect shot Trevino from inside the truck and then fled.
Trevino and the witness ran back to the restaurant at the original address where Trevino was then transported to an area hospital. The unknown suspects are described only as multiple Hispanic males.
Anyone with information in this case or on the identity of the person of interest is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
