Suspects Charged in Shooting at 2800 South Dairy Ashford

Charges have been filed against two suspects in the shooting of a female at 2800 South Dairy Ashford about 5:15 p.m. on May 1.

The suspects, Corey Hodge, 18, and Kaylen Sabbath, 17, are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 176th and 339th State District Court, respectively. Booking photos of Hodge and Sabbath, who are in custody, are attached to this news release.

The victim, 17, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Blum reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officers were advised the victim was inside her apartment when she heard multiple gunshots outside.  A bullet went through a glass door and struck her. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital in stable condition. The suspects were seen running from the vicinity

Further investigation identified Hodge and Sabbath as the suspects. Both suspects were already in custody in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges. The were subsequently charged for their roles in this incident.
