Suspects Arrested, Charged in May Fatal Shooting at 633 Rushcreek Drive

Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 633 Rushcreek Drive about 9:30 a.m. on May 5.

The suspects, Osmin Antonio Zamora-Lopez, 19, and Justin Eric Tompkins, 19, are charged with capital murder in the 176th State District Court.  Booking photos of the suspects are attached to this news release.

The men are accused in the killing of Deon Pouncy, 23.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and found Mr. Pouncy inside his apartment.  He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  Paramedics transported Pouncy to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The initial investigation revealed the motive to be a robbery involving narcotics.

Further investigation identified Zamora-Lopez and Tompkins as suspects in this case and, on December 7, they were arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force without
incident.
