HPD Homicide Division Detective A. Graf and Investigator S. Chettry reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Porter in a ditch suffering from a gunshot wound.  Paramedics transported Porter to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased the following day.

During the preliminary investigation, a female stated her vehicle had gotten stuck in a ditch at the above address and several unknown persons attempted to assist her.  At that point, she stated Porter walked up to her and pointed a gun at her.  The female then fled the scene on foot and said she heard gunshots, but was not aware Porter had been shot.  The female called 9-1-1 and said the unknown suspects fled in a dark-colored sedan.
