Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man found at 2626 Holly Hall Street about 8:25 a.m. on July 20.
The suspect, Jerry Williams, 47, is charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the 178th State District Court. A prior booking photo of Williams, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. May reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to an apartment at the above address and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators were advised Williams gained entry into a woman’s (his former partner) residence and shot the victim after a brief verbal exchange. The victim then forced the woman to leave the location in his vehicle. After a some time, Williams stepped out of the vehicle and the woman managed to gain control of it and drove away. She then reported the incident to police.
Williams was subsequently charged and remains at large.
