Charges have been filed against a suspect in a fatal crash at 4600 South Sam Houston Parkway West service road about 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 31).
The suspect, Ahmad R. Davis, 43, is charged with intoxicated manslaughter in the 179th State District Court. A booking photo of Davis, who is in custody in the hospital, is not available at this time.
The identity of the male victim, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Davis was driving a beige GMC Yukon on the service road at the above address when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Davis and the male passenger to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where doctors pronounced the victim deceased.
Further investigation determined Davis was impaired. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Davis was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
