Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 9201 South Sam Houston Parkway West

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 9201 South Sam Houston Parkway West about 10:25 a.m. on March 14.

The suspect, Jaderious Dirden, 21, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 262nd State District Court.  He is accused in the shooting of Thomas Beck, 44.

HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division Sergeant V. Garcia and Detective C. Johnson reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a minor crash at at the above address and found the suspect involved in the crash had shot at the victim, Mr. Beck, several times and struck him in the back shoulder area.  Two people fled the scene in a black, four-door sedan in an unknown direction.  Beck was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for his wounds.

On Wednesday (November 16), HPD patrol officers arrested Dirden on unrelated charges.  Further investigation identified Dirden as the suspect in the shooting incident.  Dirden admitted to investigators his role in the shooting and he was subsequently charged.
