Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 9200 Park South View

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man that occurred at 9200 Park South View about 8:15 a.m. on Friday (Nov. 17).

The suspect, Christopher Arps, 38, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawfully carry of a weapon with a felony conviction in the 482nd State District Court. A booking photo of Arps is attached to this news release.

The male victim, 28, was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive.

HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division Detectives E. Neal and J. De La Torre reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim suffering from one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to a local hospital.

Investigators learned the victim and Arps were involved in a dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. Arps pulled out a gun and fired once. Responding officers located Arps at a nearby motel and arrested him without incident.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Arps was charged for his role in the incident.
