Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 1800 Palmetto Landing Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 1800 Palmetto Landing Drive about 4:20 p.m. on Thursday (July 16).

The suspect, Armando Guzman (H/m, 75), is charged with aggravated assault-serious bodily injury in the 337th State District Court.  A booking photo of Guzman is attached to this news release.

The victim, 30, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers A. Barker and M. Combs reported:

Guzman and the victim, who work together, got into an argument about a work-related matter.  At some point, Guzman pulled a gun and shot the victim multiple times.

As Guzman was in his vehicle and preparing to leave the scene, patrol officers arrived.  After witnesses pointed out Guzman to the officers, he was taken into custody without incident.

Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
